French engineers : as far as I know, game pieces have not been modified. 1 step, thus.
Then I conclude there is a typo in scenario 2.

The four voitures légères de mitrailleuse platoon (VLM) had 4 X MG, 46 men, 56 horses (and 2 spare AAMGs). The MGs were mounted on the cart and were fired directly from its deck.
There was no dismount option, really. But they should be fired at like wagons.
So in effect, they are the same as HMG portee or the tczanka? Would it be subject to the +1 fire modifier for cavalry? Or perhaps as loaded wagons?
Scenario 2 is Ancient Walls isn't it ? I don't have any French ENG in my original version... Probably a typo.
VLM : See drawing included. It should be treated as a loaded wagon, I think.
