Gold Club?

Thanks for the info, Mate. My intent (at the moment) exceeds the "break even" point, so it sounds like a deal to me.

I have one other point to make. APL is a small company and Mike is making a "living" at this by providing games and semi-daily content. I personally feel like there is one way of looking at it to break even as Peter mentioned, but an additional benefit of membership being a ratable revenue source for APL which evens out the ups and downs for them. If they make some baseline from us every year that they can count on that regular revenue might keep the lights on if nothing else. In the situation like South Pacific where they work on it for a long time, (several years sometimes... cough... cough... cough) That means they are allocating time on something that pays off in the future, it is an investment. If those long term projects hit snags (cough... cough... cough...) Then they may not have the dosh to keep the lights on. 

I look at it like a salesman's base and commission. Base is not enough, but it helps. 

I just feel that if you like the games, get the Gold Club and look at it as keeping the business open. 

Somethings in life are transactional, some are existential. I think that APL is worth worrying about them in general, not just when we want to get something. 

I will add though that in Gold Club you will get lots of pre-release offers that seem really wonderful, but sometimes that pre release is a long way ahead of the product. I personally wait till "x" is shipping before I order it. I don't get the great deal but I don't wait for it forever either.
