Counting Battle Scenarios in Invasion 1944

Since you get the ribbon for completing all the scenario in the game/book, would the battle stars be superfluous and automatic?

As to the objections to counting them as simple play mentioned above:

"That didn't work too well because it adds 20-30% to the scenario count of a game."

Why is that an issue?   However, the Battle Games simply could be listed below the scenarios and coded as not to count in the scenario count.

"It also means one would need to play the same side through the battle game..."

Isn't that the point of a battle game, to play one side to see if you win the overall battle?  If you switch sides then you are not really playing the battle game, eh?

"Then what if players are just going through the scenarios, but not the battle games?"

Then they don't count a play of the battle game.   I think we can count on players' honesty
