Are there VC's that relate to crossing the river?

Yes.

From memory:
The Hungarians must control the bridge hex and have more undemoralized steps than the Slovaks west of the river for a minor victory.

The Hungarians must control the east-west road and all town hexes next to it for a major victory.

But they still have to get that bridge.

The bridge is the crux of all the Hungarian VC's. No bridge no win. So let them get their boots wet and spread all over the board, just don't let them on the brucke
