Entrenchments should always be a -2 DF, except when the terrain modifier is -2 or more, in which case the entrenchment modifier is -1 DF.

Entrenchments are a -2 DF, except for when there is a defensive terrain modifier, in which case the entrenchment modifier is -1 DF.

Any limiting terrain reduces the entrenchment modifier to -1 DF. (You can imagine my snarky thought might be.)

RE: Entrenchments in the jungle, and elsewhere
Let's say obstacle A block 50% of the bullets that reach it. Now use two of them, A1 and A2, with A1 in front and A2 in the back.

What is the percentage of the total bullets fired will A2 block?

It's a simple application of Bayes theorem.
