A few questions from first play.

The maps where villages are explicitly shown are those with Saipan, Marianas, Kokoda (maybe Guadalcanal?), both Korean War games and Ethiopia. The representation is of a bunch of huts with orange roofing. Towns are typically filled with building that are square or rectangular. Villages have round buildings. The real tip though is the orange roofing. On some of the more jungly maps you may have to look closely.
