From Dr. B's musings on Secret Weapons in the updated Valhalla posting, it sounds like the materials from Secret Weapons, as well as DAK 44, Divizion Corrazata, and GD 46 might all see rebirth as part of the "Long War" story arc, which will someday spread from the SWWAS system to Panzer Grenadier.
In the Long War, WW2 starts several years later, and Poland, which was (historically) an Axis ally in the dismembership of Czechoslovakia, remains an Axis ally for the dismembership of the Soviet Union. A crusade of all of Central Europe, combined with friction on the Manchoukoan border, brings about the fall of the communist regime in 1941. 1942 sees the fall of the low countries and France. The Long War starts after the fall of France. Should be interesting and difficult to chart technological progress, as the speed of change increases dramatically only after war has started.
