RE: Saipan 1944
Well, the game's arriving everywhere now, nice to see an almost all at once release after the long (still in progress?) release of KSF. I'm guessing Dr. B. waited the couple of weeks it took to get all the countersheets run and delivered before shipping to allow for a mass release. As others have posted, the maps appear too dark, but when you look at the clearings around the towns, they seem rather bright, so I'm not sure where the solution lies. There doesn't appear to be any laser burn on the counters, and the cuting is perfect.
One must feel sorry for Jay at this point. At the crowning moment of his achievement, laser cutting makes counter-clipping unnecesary, so now he must get out the rubbermaid trash can full of counter-clippings and start glueing them back on.....
I received Nihon Silk in the same mailing. This is a massive infusion of new IJA and SNLF units to the game. I especially am impressed with the parachute SMG troops...probably the most combat effective Kamakazi force ever assembled.

I have been wanting to read one for a while because of your distinct writing style.
