What does a 150mm IG gun fire?
It's not solid shot---it's HE....
So---sighting to target is an area question...you're not trying to hit That Particular Blade of Grass...You're trying to
get it into a specific area---
So a guy from the 150mmIG battery up in the tower using the +6visibility to guide the Direct Fire (over 15min there would be multiple shots)
makes all the sense in the world for that unit....
Having read what cjsiam said.... I believe the answer must be in allowing the 150mm IG a potting range of 15 from towns also. The idea that the gun(s) tend to fire directly is correct and that a unit spotter can climb up on that roof is also correct.
At least it makes sense to me and does not corrupt the rules.
You have the same issues with the Sig33B (8-15), the Grille (12-15) and the Bufla (6-15), all are DF with long rangers, granted one is considered a tank (BS), the other self-propelled artillery and the last, depending on the game, either AA or self-propelled artillery.

The Bufla...
...you cannot escape it...
It's either an AFV/or a truck....and it can fire at >12.....
..... and it all depends on how the weapon was historically used and the sighting capabilities. I believe the pieces/units in question should be noted with a "sic".
