units entering from board edge
In the scenario I'm using for my first self-play all the American units enter from a map edge. Is it alright to go ahead and set them up at the map edge when I set up all the units or should I leave them in the off map holding area and set them on the map edge when I get ready to activate them?

I usually set them up on board edge if they enter Turn One; otherwise they go in the holding box until their time arrives.

The scenario says Turn 1 or later (not all units need to enter on Turn 1) so I will probably do both. The units that I decide to have enter on turn 1 I will set up on the board edge and set up the rest in the holding box until I decide to bring them in.

Just remember---even if you set them up on map edge---the first hex COSTS mp....
and activations, and road column and all that...

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about the first hex costing MP to move into.
