Ochi: The Italian Invasion of Greece, 1940
For those of you who get the Gold-Club:

It was decided by Mike/AP that this would become a game supplement as the topic probably isn't popular enough to be a game. It will use some counters and maps from both Parachutes over Crete and Conquest of Ethiopia and well as 176 new counters for this supplement.

Now that I received Crete, I was finally able to complete and update the last details for: Ochi: The Italian Invasion of Greece, 1940.

Everything is submitted now.

A bloody battle at that and 40 scenarios to reflect them in this little covered action of WWII that had a big impact on the war.

Jay your work on Panzer Grenadier is one of the best elements of the system. I look forward to any new contributions you make.

This is going to be a unique game supplement to play, matching up Italian vs. Greek combatants. A hard fought war, offend forgotten in WWII history books.

7/6 troops attacking 8/6 or 8/7 (my guess) in defensive terrain generally doesn't end well, as the Italians discovered.

Some of this is very true but the Italian Julia Alpine Division is very tough and starts out with a 8/7 and later an 8/6 morale as they wear down and the Italian defend about half the time, as the Greeks are on the counter-Offensive. Weather gets factored into some scenarios as morale can drop for both sides. The morale in this game ranges from 8/7 to 6/5 for some Albanian units. Most of the Time the Greeks will have the higher morale but not all the time. Sometimes numbers will prevail and sometimes not. It is a bloodbath of a game however and its reflected historically.

Ochi: The Italian Invasion of Greece 1940-41, I am the most interested in of all the new games, not because I designed it but for the subject/topic, it is just very interesting for me and I have always wanted to battle PG on that front. Hardly any games on this and maybe none at Platoon/Company level.

Jay,

What sources did you use for research purposes?  I have read good portions of Hollow Legions.  I have heard whisperings that it is not the greatest of sources (but it is one of the few translated into English). From what I have read, the prose is decent (rare in a translation), but the emotion and the anger of the author seethes just below the surface.

Mike

P.S.  I am going to make sure Saipan is in my next set of orders.  I think I have all of the other boxed sets you have designed.  Now I need to master Vassal so I can actually start playing again.

Grayfox, I used a little from The Hollow Legions but more from The Defence and Fall of Greece 1940-41 and filled in with a lot of internet sources. Between those three I was able to piece this all together, as sometime they contradicted each other. Hollow Legions is based more on Italian sources while The Defence and Fall of Greece 1940-41 is based more on Greek sources and yes I know they spelled Defense as Defence as that is how it was published. The internet was very helpful in a few situations.
