Direct Fire and Leader Unit Blocking
An Infantry howitzer wants to Fire at long range at a set of Russian Trucks.....

It so happens that a German Leader, alone, is in a hex along the line of fire---for DIRECT FIRE....(not indirect)

Now the Direct fire blocking rules clearly say that a friendly unit would block the fire...

But---is a Leader a unit? in this case?  Reality is that is a small officer group, radio man, aide-de-camps, runners.....

The Blocking rule say "unit" not "Combat Unit" or "any unit not an officer".....
There is nothing in the Definition that defines "unit" there are Combat units, transport units, etc....but nothing for "unit"...

We took it as the Leader would not block fire---is that correct?

RE: Direct Fire and Leader Unit Blocking
You played it right. Leaders are not units, thus fire is not blocked.
... More and more, people around the world are coming to realize that the world is flat! Winking
