Having a problem with the forums

There are several reasons:

1) We now have a spam-fighting restriction that a user's first ever forum post must be approved by me before it can be seen. However it still shows in the forum stats, so the new posts bit can see it even though nobody else can.

2) Whatever bit of code responsible for bolding/changing the photos to show that a specific forum has new content will often do so if you are the last person to make a post. The new content is yours and it shouldn't show, but it still happens. This forum is not my design so I haven't bothered to dive in and suss out the bug since it doesn't directly impact any functionality. I'm hoping newer versions of the forum have patched it.
