Reinforcing an Assault Hex + Lone Leaders in Assault
When you reinforce an assault hex by throwing more troops into it, do they attack with their firepower plus the firepower already in the assault hex? Also what happens when a lone leader is left in the assault hex do you just roll for the lone leader to see if he is displaced?

The units coming in may join the assault but are not required to do so, assuming the units in the hex have not already fired. A lone leader is handled according to the rules, but remember that he is also subject to a free shot should he survive to exit the hex.

The lone leader must first do his moral check, then his leader loss check, then role for displacement. As Bob noted, he is going to get shot at again if he is displaced.
... More and more, people around the world are coming to realize that the world is flat! Winking

So if there is an assault hex active, and another stack comes in to join in on a later turn or action can you disobey stacking rules? If troops have fired on a turn as well, and another stack jumps into the assault do they receive the firepower from the ones that have already fired? Do defenders fire a second time again as well?

No, you can't disobey the stacking rules.  You can only bring in reinforcements up to the stacking limit.
If some troops on the attacking side have already fired, they cannot fire again along with the new entrants.
But all of the defenders can fire again.

Yes, it sounds terribly unfair to the attacking side.  But there are some situations where it might be useful to split up your attack - for example, if you are trying for a double demoralization.

So you can only bring in 3 combat units for assault, so reinforcing would only work if you had 1 or 2 and needed more from an adjacent hex?

As a defender, its so hard to get beat out in an assault. Especially because you could use your action in the assault hex to recover, correct? In my solo game, I had a Soviet HMG and leader in an Entrenched town hex that just wouldnt budge even under assault. A single troop is really hard to remove in this game whereas a stack is so easy to disrupt because of all of the rolls and column shifts.

Sometimes it is better just to DF with the adjacent hex 2-column shift when attacking enemy units in town. The assault column shift against a unit in defensive posture in town can be brutal. Once you give the fire order to the units adjacent to the town, do the math, and DF may look a lot better. If you can get a DM and the enemy unit fails to recover, you may be able to move into the hex the next turn anyhow, or assault weakened enemy units.
