RE: A New Artillery Mission: Time on Target
In everyone's enthusiasm for more realistic experiences let's not make this game system an ASL experience.  I left that because it became too granular and rule book centric.

Exactly! In man's everlasting quest for perfection, one DOES get hung up in the fiddly aspects of the game. NOTHING can duplicate the heat of battle..... therefore, good enough is..... good enough!

Actually late 1941, just in time for the Crusader battles. The British used the time signals from the BBC, remarkably similar to WWV from NOAA.
As a suggestion, I think that when playing the proposed TOT optional rule online in Vassal, the shooting side could specify the target hex in the Uber "notes section" one turn ahead, and then reveal the target hex to the opposing player on the turn that the mission is actually fired by 2 or mor,e on board or off board, bombardment weapon systems.

Would that work?

It should. There is private notes page in Uber. Remember that you need to record who is involved in the mission too.
