My PGHQ Anniversary
Greetings everyone!!!
I'm back... after a long hiatus. I was actually on late last night but saw that today was my 10 year anniversary as a member of the PGHQ. I originally joined on March 22, 2015. I used to be very active here, and was very active with Avalanche Press in parallel. I had a client in Birmingham that I visited regularly so I made a point of visiting with Mike B. at his facility in Irondale. That had its ups and downs I suppose as I got to see behind the curtains, so to speak. There was a bit that I didn't like and I suppose that jaded me a bit on the company as a whole. It mostly had to do with business practices, ethics (which I used to teach at the Collegiate level) and to a lesser extent, arrogance. It caused me to cease my support for the company for a long period of time as I felt that I had done more than my fair share of helping to 'keep the lights on' as I am still waiting on products that I bought and paid for back in March of 2015!!
All that aside, my self imposed banishment has ended. While I am still not of a mind to support the business, I do enjoy the games and I really do want to resume play. My last venture was a few years ago when the Vassal Academy was up and running. I see it has now seen its sunset, but I would very much like to meet with someone (virtually) and have them show me the ropes of how to setup in Vassal. I've downloaded the latest version, as well as several PG titles (I did own nearly all of them at one point... admittedly I am a bit behind at the moment...) and I'm ready to jump back in. Is there anyone out there willing to help an old Grognard back into the fold? If so, PM me here. I will be online for a couple hours, as I sort through my collection and update my profile.
Looking forward to returning to active duty and contributing to the group again!!!
Thank you,
Lou
