HMG Benefit for AFVs, APCs?

I have been thinking-

Wouldn't tanks carry heavy machine guns ? This would cause a spray benefit for DF for AFVs and possibly APCs ?

Technically yes. The problem comes in when you need to separate the part of the DF strength that can (bullets) from the part that can't (HE). Probably not workable in this system. I've almost never found the split fire rule to be useful anyway.

I've used it quite o bit, especially when a stack contains a HMG and a infantry type that sums up to 14 or 15 DF factors.
