Kursk: "Canonical" or "Revisionist" version? - enrique - 06-10-2012 I have not yet the game on Kursk. However, I wonder if the scenario book adopts the "canonical" version of the battle on the southern flank (big Soviet tactical victories, crushing of the SS Armored Corps by means of heroic Soviet Guard tankers ...), or on the contrary adopts the "revisionist" one (German succession of tactical victories ill-fated by the general withdrawal order). RE: Kursk: "Canonical" or "Revisionist" version? - larry marak - 06-11-2012 The action ends 9 days into the battle, prior to the big Soviet Drives that were the beginning of the end for Germany. Hopefully we can get a scenario book down the road for Kursk's Outcome, July17-August 3rd say. The North Front volume should contain scenarios from the much weaker northern penetration, and may show the Soviet counteroffensive. Have to wait and see. I do think the Soviet Counteroffensive should provide a lot of interesting battles. |
