Which units are recce/recon? - t1M0t8yk - 01-01-2024
My reading of 4th edition is that the only units clearly called out as recce/recon are armored cars. Are there any other units that are considered recce/recon without a special rule (e.g. motorcycles and cavalry)?

Unofficially, I would add German bicycle units as they were part of infantry recon battalions.

Not normally. When there are motorcycle leaders, they are just like normal leaders but with motorcycle movement costs and their country's motorcycle movement rate.

Are you then saying that the Recce special powers would extend to:
Cycle units? (Cz? Polish?)
Cavalry units? (they do lots of recon....)
Motorcycles?
Just trying to figure out how wide this "special range/capabilities" envelope really is---is it Nation dependant?

No, I was saying (because this was 2 months ago) that units in recon formations, such as German bicycles in infantry recon battalions, should have special spotting powers.
