2024 - JayTownsend - 12-18-2023

There are a lot of designers for Panzer Grenadier but this is my design update for 2024.

Avalanche Press has offered the following on The Gold-Club for early preorder, which should be published in 2024 and three of them already have the artwork on the cover. In no order:

  • Sensha Shidan or the Death of the 2nd Tank Division, Luzon 1945
  • Chosin Reservoir, the Korean War 1950
  • Fall of The Philippines 1941
  • Ochi, The Greek-Italian War 1940-41

After that I would like to follow up with:

  • Smoking Cobras, The Brazilian Expeditionary Force 1944-45
  • Fall of the Philippine 1942 or part Two
  • Gela, Sicily 1943
  • Maybe more Korean War? If there is interest for more?

I am hoping AP can publish as many as they can along with the other PG designs in 2024, like: Ardennes 1944 and Fire & Sword as well as some Modern titles to name a few.

I am still hoping for more!

Gates of Leningrad.....

A full game on Sicily wouldn't be bad.

I agree with all the above. I believe there is another designer for Gates of Leningrad and Sicily I initially submitted the whole game but it was too large: counters, maps & scenarios for Mike/AP, so I scaled it down to the American and Commonwealth two game package but again it was too large. So my last attempt was a much smaller version focusing on one the heaviest fighting around Gela. Let's see what happens?

I'm not certain, but isn't there a method of selectively adding/subtracting "scenarios" to make the campaign demonstrative rather than comprehensive? It isn't really imperative that a "game" be inclusive of every battle in a campaign, but rather, be a selection of those that demonstrate the difficulty of the battle or show the hinge points in the campaign. In that way, perhaps, the "game" would preclude "dull" scenarios. (Just my thought on the matter.)

Sort of like 2 sets of opposing forces, each player/team plays the spoiler against the other? Or multiple advancement paths? Or open ended? Or territorial occupation and advancement? PG has the 2nd and last types. CD has examples of all 4.

RE: 2024 - Schoenwulf - 12-21-2023

The campaign approach taken by AP is a bit of a disappointment. It is generally just a collection of scenarios with little carryover from one to the next, i.e. there is no continuum from the result of one battle to the next. There should some accounting for the level of lost units, historical level of reinforcements or replacements for either/both sides, quality of replacements, etc. that would provide a true representation of the campaign
