A demoralized unit is dug in and it is assaulted by an enemy unit. Does the DM unit have first fire ?

Yes, he has defensive first fire....
any casualties he causes are reduced before the attackers resolution.....

Yes, it has first fire (but it is quarterned as usual for being demoralized).
