Fusiliers Marins - plloyd1010 - 03-11-2020 Does anyone have a good company/battalion level TO&E for these guys? The Royal Marines were fairly easy. Not much info on their French counterparts. We are going to have Vassal support for Road to Dunkirk and Fall of France pretty soon. I would like to flesh out their OOB extension, for those of us who visit the wild side on occasion. This what the British Royal Marines OOB looks like: Foot Royal Marine Platoon Royal Marine Engineers (user addition) Heavy Machine-gun Platoon (user addition) 3-inch Mortar (user addition) Mechanized Bren (user addition) You know, for that Norwegian raid, or something else. RE: Fusiliers Marins - plloyd1010 - 04-22-2020 In the absence of information, the French Marine Infantry will be bunking with the Army in the Vassal extension. Ooops, sorry for the delay. The French marines shown in Road to Dunkirk are simply sailors used as infantry in very difficult times. At that time, there were no real Fusiliers Marins available. These were created by De Gaulle to constitute the 1re brigade de légion française (BLF) in July ´40. The BLF included the rallied French Legion, chasseurs (alpine + French volunteers), fusiliers marins (from disarmed French ships) + other volunteers. Some more rallying troops from Syria formed the 1er bataillon d’infanterie de marine (BIM) in september ´40. These troops were later engaged in Africa. |
