Relayed spotting and limiting terrain - cjsiam - 12-25-2018 So--- Russians are in a field....German officer is 3 hexes away---they are visible..... German's have Mortars 10 hex away..... The Mortars can fire Indirect/Bombardment---but DO NOT get the +1 column for being able to see the units---because they are >3 hexes away. Conversely---as soon as the russians open up---they get a spotted marker, and they become visible to the Mortars (without needing the officer at all) and the Mortars get +1 for firing in LOS. Right?? The units in limiting terrain: Spotting them in limiting terrain by the German Officer at 3 hexes, does NOT translate into visibility (spotting) for the Mortars at 10 hex distance. They become visible if they fire. RE: Relayed spotting and limiting terrain - Schoenwulf - 12-26-2018 Both interpretations sound right to me RE: Relayed spotting and limiting terrain - Hugmenot - 12-26-2018 Both are correct.
