Commandeering an enemy truck? - Schoenwulf - 07-28-2017 Is there anything in the rules related to using an enemy truck that has been left by its units? e.g. German infantry disembark and are defeated in battle, leaving this perfectly unused and well-fueled vehicle behind. Why wouldn't Soviet troops hop on board and move down the road with it? Or is that something that is occasionally house-ruled or in the special rules? RE: Commandeering an enemy truck? - JayTownsend - 07-28-2017 Remember a unit is Five trucks with drivers and maybe assistant, so when enemy moves into a truck or wagon only hex, the trucks and wagons are destroyed! Unless it is another enemy truck/wagon/leader. RE: Commandeering an enemy truck? - Hugmenot - 07-28-2017 There is nothing in the rules about using enemy trucks left unattended. See 5.31 Harmless Enemies for the rule. A few scenarios include special rules for trucks (typically supply trucks) but I don't recall ever encountering a scenario in which trucks can be used by enemy units. RE: Commandeering an enemy truck? - Shad - 07-28-2017 3rd Edition: 5.31 Harmless Enemies A unit may freely enter and exit hexes containing only enemy leaders (see 6.71 for possible leader casualties) and/or unarmed, empty enemy trucks, wagons or sledges. Such enemy transports are eliminated if the moving unit is a combat unit. Unarmed, empty transports can freely enter hexes containing only enemy unarmed, empty transports. They have no effect on each other. 4th Edition: 5.31 Harmless Enemies A unit may freely enter and exit hexes containing only enemy leaders (see 6.71 for possible leader casualties) and/or unarmed enemy trucks, wagons or sledges. Such enemy transports are eliminated if the moving unit is a combat unit. Unarmed transports can freely enter hexes containing only enemy unarmed transports. They have no effect on each other. Seems like the only difference is the removal of empty in three places. RE: Commandeering an enemy truck? - J6A - 07-28-2017 Which cost the US a scenario as their loaded jeeps got assaulted.
