Happy Barbarossa Day - t1M0t8yk - 06-22-2016 My sister's husband has an encyclopedic knowledge of WWII. I asked him what he was doing 75 years ago today. He responded, "Throwing Barby on some Reds!" Has this significant anniversary been noted anywhere in the media? I've seen nothing so far. RE: Happy Barbarossa Day - Hugmenot - 06-23-2016 There is a written mention at history.com but none in the short video. Keep in mind that site is primarily about American history, not world history. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history RE: Happy Barbarossa Day - plloyd1010 - 06-23-2016 Yeah Dan, most countries do that. It an be fun to compare notes with foreigners sometimes. RE: Happy Barbarossa Day - zaarin7 - 06-24-2016 It was also Bagration day aka The Destruction of Army Group Center. Funny that you mention that because I have Destruction of Army Group Center (2nd edition, World at War #9) in my simple-games-to-play-soonish pile. Only Red Vengeance and Victory in Normandy are ahead of it. RE: Happy Barbarossa Day - tanzerleader - 06-26-2016 My father and i will always call each other every 22/6 and discuss Barbarossa. And on 10th of May each year as well. A weird tradition we have. |
