How to incorporate multiple box covers? - Shad - 11-27-2015 Dedicating a new thread to Robin's question, how should we incorporate new box covers for an existing game?
RE: How to incorporate multiple box covers? - Hugmenot - 11-27-2015 Timed flip would be my preference but it's not a strong preference. RE: How to incorporate multiple box covers? - Poor Yorek - 11-27-2015 Or, perhaps, a sort of diagonal view of old/new, like seen for the maps of Elsenborn Ridge (the site image shows both the standard map and the winterized version split along the long axis diagonal)? But not one to lose sleep over imho. I like the diagonal idea, BUT the current maps are not 'clickable' and show only the half-and-half view. Since the covers are not 'identical' like the terrain maps, you'd have to be able to click on either side and see that entire cover -- I'd hate to miss some of the beautiful (or ugly) cover design. RE: How to incorporate multiple box covers? - Michael Murphy - 11-28-2015 Why not just create another folder in the Library containing all of the game box image covers, preserved in all their Good, Bad, and Ugly glory? I'm picturing this being in the lines of the map section. Problem solved. RE: How to incorporate multiple box covers? - Matt W - 11-28-2015 Just a note. It is highly likely that newer versions of "old" maps will be reissued, with updated graphics to meld stylistically with current maps. Thus, for example, map 1 will have two versions with all of the same terrain features in the same places but with a very different "look": RE: How to incorporate multiple box covers? - zaarin7 - 11-28-2015 Perhaps another way to do it would be like a slide show if the background programming will support that. |
