Terrain question? - JayTownsend - 08-27-2015

hex 1006 in the LOS diagram on page 22 of the rules should have been woods, not clear.

was this ever confirmed?

Never mind, I'll answer my own question, the hex pictured in hex # 1006 should of had woods in it. Mike confirmed it as well.

I do think the example on page 23 saying viewer B, target H is not spotted because of Beyond three hexes of limiting terrain?

Jay,

H is not in limiting terrain.  Thus, B-as-viewer can spot H-as-target as per the table.  H-as-viewer could not spot B-as-target as B is in LT (field) at > 3 hexes - unless of course it's after dark on a Tuesday.  Oh, snap, that's fizzbin.  I meant winter.

I do think that the B-as-viewer to F-as-target providing LOS as "yes" is in error.  Hex 0906, through which LOS between the two is drawn, is a woods hex (confirmed by the F-to-H entry) at 20-m elevation and, hence, constitutes a 40-m obstruction.  B-as-viewer is at 0-m elevation and F-as-target is at 20-m elevation.  Hence, bullet #8 of 8.41 p. 22 indicates LOS is blocked.
