Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - armyduck95 - 06-25-2015 OK, So I received Conquest of Ethiopia - beautiful, maps, counters, and I can't wait to get it on the table... BUT According to Mike's April 2014 daily content, I was expecting an Elephant counter(s) in the game as promised...am I missing something???? It is not there... "Conquest of Ethiopia includes special rules for elephant combat, including elephant charge. They are among the most useful units on the Italian side, second only to the tanks. They are very potent in assault combat, and can carry an infantry platoon into battle just like an armored personnel carrier using the new extended assault rules and squash enemy foot soldiers just like a tank conducting an overrun. Well, at least they can do all that if the enemy doesn’t have guns. Finding enemies without guns is sort of a problem in World War Two." http://www.avalanchepress.com/Elefante.php RE: Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - plloyd1010 - 06-25-2015 Eric, do you know the exact date of that Daily Content article? OK, the exact date of the article is April 1, 2014. So...if I succumbed to a cruel, cruel, cruel, April Fool's article than I feel trampled underfoot... http://www.avalanchepress.com/Elefante.php http://www.avalanchepress.com/Site.php RE: Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - plloyd1010 - 06-25-2015 If it would make you feel better, I can make you some elephant counters. RE: Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - larry marak - 06-25-2015 I believe there are elephant counters available in Kursk Tigers Burning. RE: Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - larry marak - 06-25-2015 I was ready to order the first volume of the PG in Second Great War setting, Imperial Grenadier: the Battle for Poland, till I found to my chagrin it was a hoax. HOWEVER Mike has indicated a SGW strategic game, based on JP3R and GPW is being seriously contemplated. Dr. Mike mentioned that to me, also. He's sure it could be a better (or at least more balanced) game than Third Reich, since you're not stuck with Herr Hitler's fanatical idiocy in taking on most of the world. It eliminates the whole "Axis wins by dying later than they did in real life" problem, and can be structured to give both sides a fairly even chance to actually win the war. RE: Conquest of Ethiopia-Where's my Elephant? - larry marak - 06-25-2015 Which means that a lot of thought has to go into order of battle at corps and division level. After that it might be possible to design down to PG level of units.
