RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - campsawyer - 08-11-2012 Ok, I would still go for the bridge. The Hugarians need to fight for it, so there is the possibility of demoralizing or reducing the number of steps on the far side of the river. Even if they get around, the Slovaks can exploit any weak flank security on the east side of the river and snatch a town hex or two from that on in the east, if the opportunity presents itself. LOL - I play Romanians, Italians and Slovaks too... all Axis. My set up would still be along the lines I suggested. Looks an interesting scenario. But they still have to get that bridge. The bridge is the crux of all the Hungarian VC's. No bridge no win. So let them get their boots wet and spread all over the board, just don't let them on the brucke RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - Hugmenot - 08-11-2012 Show me the money Vince. I will include this scenario in the short list I will send you. RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - campsawyer - 08-11-2012 Quote:I play Romanians, Italians and Slovaks too... all Axis. Vince, sounds like you get your choice with this one. RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - vince hughes - 08-11-2012 (08-11-2012, 06:39 AM)Hugmenot Wrote: Show me the money Vince. D, I was going to suggest the same thing. So all I have to do is avoid a Hungarian Major victory to do better ? RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - Hugmenot - 08-11-2012 You set your bar pretty low, Herr Hughes. We'll see what my artillery has to say about it. RE: First Axis #3 - Slovak Setup - Matt W - 08-11-2012 In my play of this I did concentrate a large Slovak force at the bridge and I kept the rest of the force in the woods to the north to handle any attack which managed to get across the river. It worked reasonably well but, as in your case, the Slovaks did have some trouble remaining coherent. The Hungarians were also pretty tender and I had a lot of stacks with black markers on top.
