Column shift for 3 units in a hex
Hi guys,

please apologize if my question looks silly and the answer is obvious.
But it is not for me.

The attacker direct fires with infantry units in a hex where you have two infantry units and a tank.

In my opinion, the firer gets the column shift for 3 units in a hex only if it could obtain a "X" result on the firetable (as this is the only possibility to hurt the tank).
That means this is not possible under 7 FP (or 16 FP for Bombardment).

Am I right ?

Thank you,
Manu

Mem,

Its +1 col shift whatever combat units are in the hex. (transports and APC's don't count towards it, but would take the effects of it if they were in the hex too).

The key here is unit density. The tanks would still be taking up space and therefore pushing the 'flesh' units into a tighter space I presume.

Correct, that means that in some circumstances the armor will not be affected by the fire but its presence increases the likelihood of morale difficulties for the soft targets.
No "minor" country left behind...
