Kursk South Joins Cassino At The Top
With Matt.W and PeterMc's recent '4' rated plays of KSF, it has now joined Cassino as the joint number one rated box set in the collection with a rating of 3.72 after 107 plays. That's good news for a new(ish) box on the block.

Well done Mike.P. on that. Through circumstances I am still yet to play one from Dave Murray's Italian masterpiece and have so far only played 2 or 3 Kursk's..... Just so many PG things to do ! Heart

In my heart I wish Mike B. would give me the art to make a Cassino vassal module. I think it'd see a lot more play then. I believe it's just too big for most owners.

My reason for not playing is not due to space it's because:

a) Not one opponent has proposed it as a play yet.
b) I have had more than one PG project going on, therefore Cassino has missed out and
c) Whenever I or an opponent has 'rolled' for random scenarios, again Cassino has failed to be randomly selected.

I will get there soon though !

However, I think you are right. If Cassino was ever VASSAL'ed it would probably get more play from the people inclined to VASSAL.

Don't forget Beyond Normandy. It's so big that VASSAL is about the only way that I'll ever get to play it.
2,500 years ago people worshiped cats. The cats have never forgotten this!

I got BN simply for the counters. Needed them for Panzer Lehr. Now I wonder if Liberation would have the same counter mix.

Vince - I would gladly play a cassino scenario - That is one that I particularly enjoyed reading about and the mix of nationalities make that an interesting one as well.

Alas - we have a BN to finish and a North of Elsenborn on the horizon...

I feel the main reason is to many scenarios and not enough time in one's life to play them all. I myself have played just one Casino and that was recently, but the game has been on the shelf for years.

I believe we would need to be monks to get through all the scenarios that are there and that are to come. We can be the Order of the Grenadier, find and old monastery high and a mountain and hold up there to play PG. Wait, that would be Casino what an interesting stream of thought, hold up on the mountain playing PG. Hmm.....
