Pretend that you are in a theater sometime in mid-spring. Before the movie begins, the summer previews come on. The scene is daybreak in a hill. Mist and smoke hang in the air as the camera pans slowly around. Don Lefantain begins his promotional soliloquy:
On a hill, south of nowhere... camera panning shows an isolated countryside, a large lake is nearby
A battle has been fought... flashes of men struggling in the dark, rifle fire, artillery flashes in the background
The victors have claimed the heights... camera scans over bodies in green and brown uniforms, some close together locked in a violent fatal embrace, smoking craters, survivors in green uniforms look forward in shocked relief
Their enemy is recovering... figures in brown uniforms gripping weapons, forming into columns
Now the battle will be to hold what they have taken... green uniforms digging in, looking anxiously to the distance
There will be no rest today... brown uniforms approach the hill & charge upward, artillery, airstrikes, lots of desperate small arms fire
For the enemy is upon them... flashes of hand to hand combat
The men seek assurance...
A young officer has somehow escaped the Purges and rose a slightly disheveled major stands prominently among the men
to inspire soldiers who felt forsaken.
To give them hope! major directs men, provides encouragement
As the Rising Sun spreads it bloody rays across the summit. long shot of a large gun fight at close quarters
The ray of hope... distinct rifle shot, scene goes dark
PoE4, Jan 27. Been there, done it, got the t-shirt. I rolled a 3 for a leader casualty check, 1-10-2 major dead on the spot. Sucks like a Hoover!
