My company operates entirely remotely. As a result, most of our communications are done via email and slack (a chat platform). We have an official policy of “assume good intent.” That means that we assume, in the lack of tone and facial cues, that any anything that could be interpreted as sarcasm, condescension or hostility if read a certain way was not intended that way before we reply. I think it’s a good policy.

No worries here, if it says the max is plus 3 and the min is minus 2.... to my way of thinking that's exacty what it means.
