Is there a place to check what counters go with what game or to check if you have the right ones?

There was a spreadsheet long ago, which listed most games up to Fall of France. I don't recall where I found it, but I think it was this site.

Likely the best way would be to go to the BGG Panzer Grenadier page and look lookup the game in question. There are scans of the countersheets on most of the game pages. To verify the leaders, go to the Impartial Leader Selector tool. It has a list of leaders used in each game. Just keep in mind that a leader list for an expansion will include the leaders from the supporting games.

Based on the games you have listed on your profile im guessing this is related to Fire in the Steppe? The counter presentation there is certainly very messy. 

Its hard to provide a better answer without more information though.

My copy  is in the back of my closet. If no one else has the info you need for the correct contents of FitS i'll dig it out later.
