Aircraft and Night
I cannot  find anything in the 4th Edition rules that say how night affects aircraft.  Is there any such rule?

I ask this because in Conquest of Ethiopia Special Rule 13 says to apply the Dawn and Dusk time table in that rule to all scenarios.  Therefore, Scenario 2 would have dusk at 1800 hours with night in effect from 1745 to 1915, the end of the scenario.  But the scenario special rules allow the Italian player to draw aircraft all the way to the end of the scenario.

I would think that night would at least affect the spotting roll.

Yeah, I play it the aircraft can only be used in daylight hours turns, where spotting is 4 or more hexes.

I would tend to think that way too but in this scenario the aircraft are specifically scheduled on turns after dusk.   I'll have to go with the designer on this one and play it as written I guess.

RE: Aircraft and Night
That probably needs to be edited in the scenario rules.... especially given the time period. In CoE, there should not be any night capable aircraft.

It would interning to research. Of coourse,, every school boy knows that the British were bombed at night inn 1940. And I believe Zeppelins Bombed London in WWI at night.

Yes, but strategic bombing of cities or ports, not trying to hit tactical targets.

We're talking about Conquest of Ethiopia... 1930's. Yes, it would be very interesting to read about low level, tactical bombing/strafing of targets, at night, in the mountainous Ethiopian terrain.

True. But in FitS scenario #7 The Road to Lukachi , the special rules say that the German player has.a chance to draw for an aircraft until dusk. Tactical enough.
