Current Major Project: Library Upgrade (still Dodgy )

I made very little progress on this last month because of all the tweaking I was doing on the forums. You get a shiny new toy and you wanna play with it, you know?

But this Library upgrade is impacting a lot of other things now (OOBs are broken, Want to Play is broken, Galleries rely on the upgrade) so I need to refocus and get this major task wrapped up to unclog the queue for everything else.

Random Notes:

Last Monday I signed the offer sheet for a new position in a new industry at a new company. From August 1st I will be a Director of International Marketing. This will leave me less time to work on PG-HQ (bad!), but will allow me to catch up on a few PG purchases (good!), and as I will be traveling frequently I may even get to meet up with a few of you guys while I'm on the road (awesome!).

As I said I begin on August 1st, so I am making that my personal deadline to get the Library upgrade done (at the very least) and possibly gallery support as well. We shall see! Sleepy

Congrats on the new job, Shad! If your travels take you to Minneapolis, let me know and we'll do lunch (and maybe a little PG :-).

I will definitely keep you fine folks informed of my whereabouts. My first jaunt abroad will be Sept. 10~15 in Chicago for the International Manufacturing Technology Show.

Congrats on the promotion, more money less time always the trade off.

So I assume the better search and formations are off the table?

So it seems. I don't mean to seek congratulations, I only mentioned it because it directly impact the site...

I wouldn't say that. Rather, some things are conducive to working on piecemeal, other things require me to sit and focus for several hours of uninterrupted work.

The big stuff that needs large blocks of time will be harder to do in the future. The Library upgrade falls into this category. So I'm trying to get it done now while those blocks of time are still (somewhat) frequent.

Search upgrade can be done piecemeal a bit at a time, and will get done, just not in July.
