PG Series 1929-1955?
PG cutoff years? What should be the range of PG series as far as time periods or era? Currently we have scenarios ranging from 1934 to 1950 with Infantry Attacks & Modern War on either end of the PG era.

I was thinking the Korean War should be fit into the PG time frame, which is 1950-53. The China conflict started in 1932 I believe so maybe have PG limits fall within 1929-1955?

I vote yes on 1929-1955!

Maybe 1930-1953?

Or other?

I went with 30-53, but a lot depends on where Mike wants to put Korea, and whether the Chaco War between Bolivia and Peru is targeted for PG or I.A.

RE: PG Series 1929-1955?
I would but the change from not a date only but when the technology changed to warrant the PG rules v. IA or MG. PG rules are focused on infantry platoons and tanks and the combine arms effort of the two. IA focuses on mass infantry and plotted artillery fire. (Although I feel the artillery rules need some work). MG is going to focus on continuing the combined arms but you will have the introduction of technology, missile and helicopter attacks as well as changes to modern tactics.

So, with a beginning date I would say when tanks appeared in campaigns as well as when the primary infantry unit went from a company went to the platoon as a primary combat unit. Without research that would put a begin date after the Russian Civil War as well as the Russo-Polish war. This would place it about mid to late 20's or so.

As for an end date, I would end it when missiles and helicopter attacks began common in battle. This would probably be the late 50's or so.

I was wondering as PG is really the big brother of panzerblitz that the arab israeli wars haven't been looked at as a cut off.

RE: PG Series 1929-1955?
I would suggest a 30-53 period as that tends to be a reasonable cutoff between the preceding infantry oriented doctrine of the WW I period, the combined arms period of WW II, and the armor centric modern warfare. I certainly believe that there will be appropriate quibbles on the boundaries of that period and that a conflict's exact dates should not determine its placement wtihin the three systems but rather the doctrine and weaponry used should do so.
No "minor" country left behind...
