Is Hex 0712 on Fall of France Board 33 Light Woods?
PG really needs a comprehensive terrain depiction chart.

It's a field (same as 0209 on the same map). The artist showed fields with different crops and growth in them.
Fields have a brown border around them and lines (they're running from bottom left to top right in 0712).

Ah, fields. I thought maybe that was the case as it looked like a field but the little faint trees (bushes?) made me wonder.

You might consider playing them as orchards. It might shake things up a little.
