Scenario EdlX028

This scenario features 9/8 Japanese-American soldiers trying to both control a road and exit against a numerically similar force of German Mountain troops. The Germans have to setup along the wooded hill, but have their eye on the more defensible town on board 9.

The fast MTN HMGs came in handy, with roughly half the force retreated east as the Nisei brought their force to bear on the first line. With their superior morale and 3 OBA factors, the Nisei handled the mountaineers with relative ease.

Despite the Americans' success in crushing the Germans and exiting troops, the game still came down to an OBA attack on the last turn to determine control of the road, which flips 30 VPs. The strike succeeded in demoralizing the lone, stubborn GREN contesting control of the road, thereby giving the day and a Major Victory to the Americans.

Overall, this is a very nicely balanced, small infantry action, that showcases the power of 9/8 morale and a solid OBA park capable of hitting the 55 column.
