Pusan Perimeter, scenario #45: South Flank

Another fast playing scenario, this one should have been called by the skin of my teeth or those damned 76.2mm guns, the way I played it anyway. Again the North Koreans setup in two layers of defense as it worked in the last scenario: Battle of the Notch. The Americans have mixed mobile force of mostly trucks, jeeps, 50-Cal jeeps, trucks and M5HST prime movers loaded with Infantry and heavy weapons including battery of 155mm guns but also a platoon of Sherman tanks. The NKPA have a mixed force of Infantry and heavy weapons including those pain in the butt 76.2mm guns!

It late, so I’ll make this brief the Americans finally fought their way through the NKPA first line of defense losing of all things their 155mm guns, as the demoralized crew abandon their guns. Hitting their next line of defense the Americans lost both steps of Sherman tanks to that North Korean 76.2mm gun battery that just had to roll a 12 on the dice after my infantry failed to suppress it. At this point I almost conceded a draw as the points from the victory condition looked to be stuck there but I managed to squeeze out one more American Infantry step off the west edge of the map at the very end to a achieve a minor American victory by one point.

Another very close engagement, and that NKPA 76.2mm gun really caused me loads of problems, with both bombardment and AT dice rolls but not enough to make me give up. Now, on the Return trip scenario!
